The China Buddhist Association (CBA) was founded in New York City in1963 by Reverend Miao-Feng, who was the first bhikshu (buddhist monk) coming to the continent of USA to teach buddhism. CBA manages three churches: Fa-Wang Shi, established in China town of Manhatton in 1963; Song-Lin Shi, at Hyde Park, NY and Ci-Hang Sublime Abode at Flushing in 1993. The latter is also known as Guan-Yin Tang, where Guan-Yin (Avalokitesvara) Bodhisattva is worshipped. Besides the fact that the Yin-Shun Mentor Library, where quite lot of books are collected and ready for public, is on its second floor, the headquarter of “Ci-Hang Monthly” situates there also.
For the sake of the stronger power of e-documents in providing and spreading knowledge nowadays, this CBA web site is set up to serve more people the Buddhist teachings with higher efficiency.
May all become buddhas soon.
